Sports Card Forum 2016-17 Playoffs Bracket Madness

The Quest for Lord Stanley’s Cup begins this week! Will the Penguins be able to defend their Championship? Can a loaded Capitals team finally go all the way? The next two months will see these questions answered, and along the way we can have some fun in SCF 2016-17 Playoffs Bracket Madness, the latest leg in The Quest for the Cup!

This will be the 10th leg in our Season of Mystery Contest, sponsored by Frameworth Sports!


The contest will run, as it does every year, in this format:

• Each participant will predict the winning team of each series and the number of games in each series (i.e. Montreal over New York in 5). This process will be followed for all four rounds of the playoffs. Participants remain in the pool until the end of the playoffs, so even if you have a slow start and the teams you pick in round one are eliminated, you get a fresh start in the next round.

• Two points will be awarded for correctly choosing the winning team (i.e. Montreal).
• Two additional points will be awarded for correctly choosing the number of games it takes the winning team to clinch the series (i.e. 5 games).
• A single point will be awarded for choosing the correct number of games but not the winning team (i.e. New York in 5 games).

The player with the most points at the end of the Stanley Cup Finals wins the Bracket Challenge and the contest prize TBD

Members will receive points in the Season of Mystery Contest based on the number of points they received in the Bracket Challenge. Last year’s winner had 40 points, so this is a very important contest that could have a major effect on the outcome. Make sure you enter!

Please have your predictions submitted by the end of the day the playoffs begin. PM your entries to RGM81. Late entries will be allowed up to 1 game being played but you can only pick the winner of each series, and not the winner plus the number of games.

Trade Component
Members will be asked to complete a minimum of one trade over the duration of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Any trade that is confirmed & completed during the post-season will be eligible for the contest. If you do not complete the trade requirement your entry will not be eligible for Season of Mystery points, but you can still be eligible for the calendar prize.

The Usual Rules
One entry per member.
Members must be in good standing—any negative feedback or infractions received during the contest period will result in disqualification.

I'm in a hockey pool where you have to pick 18 players, and there are 33 teams in it, not a single Nashville Predators player on a single team. Amazing.
