I went through all my commons and pulled all the Brady's various years from 2002-present. There were about 60 something. Sold them for $50. Crazy.

I believe a lot of the Brady sales on eBay are fake ...

That may be the case but why are 2002 cards (from his 3rd year of cards) seeing a spike? Just seems so random to me.

Sometimes 2nd and 3rd year cards go up in value. See Jordan cards :)
Collect what you like. Simple.

Those Jordan cards are actually down a bit from when he was playing :/
And I could see if all his second year stuff spiked but it seems like only a handful of Tom Brady 2nd year cards have spiked with the 2002 Upper Deck SP Authentic being the highest valued one (that I know of).

He's actually right about sales being faked on eBay. I can't vouch for it happening with the Brady cards as I have no knowledge but over on the basketball side there was a thread bout how people would artificially inflate the value of rare 90s insert cards. You take a card that you and your friends have a lot of copies of and go back and fourth bumping the value of the other guy's auction up to an absurd level. Then you switch who is listing and who is bumping up the value. All it takes is like 5 guys and you can suddenly take a $100 card and make it go for around $1000 after "everyone wants one".
