    Michael Caine has paid emotional tribute to his friend Sir Roger Moore, who died at the age of 89 after a battle with cancer.

    The actor said he had lost one of his closest friends and his 'world will never be the same again.'

    Sir Roger died after a 'short but brave' battle with cancer, his family said, surrounded by love in his final days in Switzerland.

    They paid tribute to his campaign work, saying he considered the time with UNICEF to be his 'greatest achievement'.

    The statement said: 'It is with a heavy heart that we must announce our loving father has passed away today in Switzerland after a short but brave battle with cancer.
