2016-17 The Cup Discontinued? And other set questions

    Hi guys,

I've been out of the hobby for a few years and just getting back into it now. Has Upper Deck discontinued The Cup for this year? I assume they have b/c it does not show an upcoming release date anywhere. I just found it odd how I couldn't find any news on the discontinuation on Google.

On that note, what is the number one "most valued" setl? Is it Ultimate collection, Black hockey, or one of the others? A brief summarization of high/medium/low valued sets would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The cup is not discontinued. It won't out for quite some time still. September maybe.

The Cup is still the most highly-valued set.

I'll echo the above too. And as for value, are talking about the highest value (The Cup) or the best bang for your buck? I would say SPA can be a good buy value wise, plus it's very collectible. But buying cards for value may leave you dissapointed in the end, which is why some of the best advice is just collect what you like and have fun :)

2015-16 Cup didn't come out until December 1st last year. It'll probably be another 2-3 months at least before we even see a sell sheet.

Maybe they're pushing it back even further? 2016-17 The Cup, brought to you in January 2018!

We've already seen a "sneak peek" at this year's Cup thanks to Mikhail Sergachev posting a photo on social media of him signing a big stack of cards.

Cup is not by any means discontinued.
    Carey Price fan and collector!
