When a player announces he plans on leaving via free agency it really reduces his team's leverage. Still, I would have thought they could have gotten more.
Always Looking for:

B) Graded True RC's (No inserts or parallels) (BGS, PSA, SGC) in all sports

HORRIBLE trade for BOTH teams imho.
The Pacers got fleeced! Could have got much more from Celltics and apparently turned down Marcus Smart and (2) #1s or Crowder and (3) #1s already ... STUPID move by Pacers imho!
As for the Thunder ... this should obviously make them much better this season ... maybe even good enough to get to the WCF and then get smacked by the Warriors ... BUT ... if there was one guy that OKC should have wanted to keep away from Westbrook, it was Paul George as he's made it clear he plans to sign with the Lakers next summer and most think Westbrook wants to sign there as well ... so now PG13 and Russ can play together for an entire season, develop chemistry and then go sign with the Lakers TOGETHER next summer ... crazy!

The only thing I can think of is that the Pacers wanted to get him out of the East (so no Celtics) but even then I really don't get the trade on their part if that was the case.

Wow haven't thought about both Westbrook and George both going to the Lakers after this season. If Celtics don't get Hayward could be the end of Danny Ainge!

I think you're right on the money and I believe Pacers GM Pritchard hurt his own franchise by being stubborn and refusing to trade PG13 within the Eastern Conference ... bad teams make bad decisions.

Rob- I don't see them letting Ainge go. They have a good young nucleus, they have more top draft picks coming, and who knows that LeBron doesn't end up out west in two seasons?
