Group Break Multi-Team Card Random Question
Some breakers will give a card to the 51+% owner without any random. Is this the right way to handle it? Or, should it be a random to every team listed on the card? I have my opinion that I will post after a few unbiased opinions. Does it matter if said team had 2/3, 3/4, 5/8?

Would assume that the card would be randomed towards all the teams on the card
Example Card A has Edmonton/Florida/Calgary/Calgary
I would expect that there would be a 4 spot random with all three teams and Calgary gets two spots, 50 percent chance to win

Each team represented gets 1 entry in the random for each time they are pictured on said card.
Like above, if Calgary is there twice, Calgary goes on the random twice. I don't think it should go to whoever has the highest percentage, each team should have a shot at it.

I'd feel cheated if my team was represented on a card in a break and it was given to another team without a random drawing. That's the only way to make sure it's fair in my opinion.

IMO the only fair way to do it is to give 1 spot per team per player on the card... so if it's a card featuring 8 players and there's 2 EDM, 2 CAL, 1 NSH, 1 VAN, 1 LA, 1 ANA I would set up the random like so:
ANA
CAL
CAL
EDM
EDM
LA
NSH
VAN
Then random it however many times the agreed upon amount was prior to the break starting. I've never seen a breaker do it any other way?

I agree with all the responses so far that say that the card should be randomed with each team getting a spot for the number of times they appear. Every breaker I've dealt with has done it this way EXCEPT for one which randomed a card based on the number of people "splitting" the card (ie, my team appeared twice on a triple card but I had only a 50-50 chance of winning the card with the other person who had the remaining team since we each got one spot in the random -- I lost). I've never gone in another one of his breaks because I didn't agree with that.

I've somewhat rejigged the title of this thread to be more descriptive and less click-baity.
I've never seen a group break/razz scenario where someone goes and just assigns the card like that without at least soliciting opinions first on how to disperse it. As others have noted, it's pretty standard convention to random it among the team holders with each player getting a spot.
I would imagine that if there's some scenario where there's a Crosby-Draisaitl-McDavid triple patch card (since we know there won't be any autos like that) the guys who has the Penguins would be absolutely livid if that card was just given to the Edmonton spot holder without a random.Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...

I know of a handful of breakers who do the 51%, but I agree that it should be a random with the number of slots based on the cards

I think as long as the rules are laid out before hand their should not be a problem from anyone in the break. If you have a problem with the way it done you should find another breaker or see if others feel the way you to do merit a change in the rules. If someone came up with that on the fly and did it I would be pissed but that would be the only situation where I could see any reason to be upset. Look forward to your reply on what caused the thread.
