Shock poll shows NFL popularity down 31% with core fans

    http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/sh...rticle/2636837

From the end of August to the end of September, the favorable ratings for the NFL have dropped from 57 percent to 44 percent, and it has the highest unfavorable rating – 40 percent – of any big sport, according to the Winston Group survey provided exclusively to Secrets.

Worse for football, which was already seeing lower TV ratings and empty stadium seats, the month of protests and complaints about them from President Trump drove core fans, men 34-54, away, the most significant indicator that NFL brass aren't in touch with their base.

The Winston Poll from the Washington-based Winston Group found that the attitude of those fans went from an August rating of 73 percent favorable and 19 percent unfavorable to 42 percent favorable and 47 percent unfavorable, a remarkable turn against the sport.

According to the Winston Poll, every category of NFL fan saw a drop in support.

Wow I noticed a change in my football friends, watching no more football, to not using their season tickets to burning memorabilia.

I have quit watching football on TV, only the scores do I check on my laptop. I am a retired Veteran and if they can't understand the difference between racism and pride and honor for our country and flag, they don't deserve for me to honor them in there actions.

The Trump Effect is real ... he makes issues 2-sided, leaves no room for toeing the line between the sides and then makes it clear that you're either for him or you're against him ... and about 50% of people are for him, so it doesn't surprise me the "unfavorability index" of the NFL went from just 19% pre-Trump to 47% post-Trump.

As for me ... I like watching football and I don't care what individual players think so it makes no difference to me if someone protests or not.

That seems wasteful to me if that is gear that others could use as clothes. But then again I don't really agree with burning anything that has a use for it. Too wasteful.

The ratings were down last season and they are down again this season. The only reason they seem up or down is because of single games that vary based on the teams in the game. Cowboys, Packers, Patriots, Steelers, etc are always going to up against a match up that the season before had Jets versus Bills.
