Are the Celtics legit?
Are the Celtics legit? They currently have won 13 in a row and have the best record in the NBA.

The Celtics probably will win the east, but no one is beating the Warriors.

Yeah I was more talking about the East as I don't think anybody is going to challenge the Warriors unless they suffer a major injury. I thought the Celtics were done competing in the East with the opening night injury but they look super strong and I am rethinking Irving as being overrated now because of it.

As bad as they are though can't sleep on the Cavs come playoff time. Hopefully my Raptors make some progress this season.

Yeah the Cavs are going to be tough to beat but they probably will be behind the Celtics record so home court would go to the Celtics. If they keep playing the way they are playing (did I just see them beat the Warriors last night?) then it might be time to take them seriously as not only a threat to the East but also to the Warriors/Western Conference.

I think the Celtics are doing what the Yankees did this year in Baseball and could win the East!
Football: Emmitt Smith and CeeDee Lamb!
Baseball: Aaron Judge/Adley Rutschman/Derek Jeter/Anthony Volpe!
Only collect Football/Baseball cards, but I have lots of Basketball/Hockey cards and set to trade for BB and FB!

The Celtics are as good as anyone in the East, including the Cleveland Cavs Old Folks Home. Kryie is showing he is an elite player, and hopefully he can stay on the court for an extended period of time and go on a serious run. He is as good as any PG in the East, and maybe the best isolation player in the game who can totally destroy just about anyone at will. No knock on IT2, but a major upgrade there for the C's.
The Celtics have a real balanced squad even without Hayward for the rest of the season. Horford is the ultimate blender who does many things well, and yet another capable ball handler from several spots on the floor. They have seemingly hit lottery gold in both Jay Brown and Tatum, who both appear to be plus players on both sides of the floor. Then they have that grittiness in Smart, Baynes, and Theis.
Props to Brad Stevens who really seems to have them at attention, and locked and loaded right out of the gate.

As someone that is a novice NBA fan, you have to give Danny ainge a ton of credit for not resting on his laurels and success of last season.
He has made some savvy moves in previous years recognizing that the previous core was on the down side and was able to secure future picks/assets; which helped to put a package together.
