This German hockey league goalie dislodging the net on a breakaway could not give less of a...
Generally speaking, the best athletes in the world want to perform in crunch time. Depending on the sport, that could mean wanting to take the last shot, catch the last pass or hole the final putt. In hockey, there's no bigger crunch time situation for a skater and a goalie than a breakaway. It's mano e mano. Best on best. You vs. me. David Leggio, a German hockey league goalie, could not give less of a about any of that.

Should just award a goal if a goaltender intentionally dislodges his/her net on a breakaway.

I am sure he would not do it if that rule was in place. Just a goalie who uses mathematics to determine his course of action.

You know your a smart player if you get them to change rules because you take advantage of them due to the probability of the outcome being in your favor. Players like this always push the envelope of looking for loopholes in the rules.

German hockey league institutes a David Leggio rule
You have to give David Leggio credit: He’s changing the world of hockey.
The Deutsche Eishockey Liga announced a rule change Wednesday that awards a goal to the opposing team if the goaltender shoves the net off its moorings during a breakaway. The move came quickly after Leggio did exactly that to prevent a one-on-one situation with Ross Mauermann of the Fischtown Pinguins last week.
