Where's the best place to database your personal collection, short of creating an excel file.

Just wondering if there are any good websites for inputting all of your personal collection so you can keep track of what cards you have. Beckett used to have a system like that but it looks like they are charging an arm and a leg for all their services now.

Rather than creating a spreadsheet with all my cards, is there a website that allows you to inventory your cards and maybe even auto-track values, etc?

I just finished inventorying almost 12,000 cards on this site (SCF) and absolutely love it ...especially since I can export to an Excel File for easy filtering/searching...

Not a bad idea. It doesn't seem that the system carries over the image of the card, from the search, into your personal inventory.. Is that the case? Would be nice if it did.

The IM here on SCF is probably one of the best databases for cards on the internet. The best plus of it is that if you have a card not in the checklist, you can get it added in.

Also you can link it to any other site or Facebook page to show your inventory.

    There's tons of uses.

I would reccomend adding your want list first. There is a search function that allows you to see who has what you need. It's the best way to start finding trade partners.

How do you get one added? I came across a few that didn't show up via search but couldn't find a way to add them.

Here's a quick link to the appropriate page where you can start a thread in order to add a card or cards you would like to get added in.

You can also present an image to help verify.

    Welcome back first and foremost

As for the images to your inventory, if you click on View your Inventory from the right menu, you should see something like this

    inv_manager_images.PNG

If you have an image that is tied to your card, it would appear.

Now if you are talking about exporting out to excel, this is also available (though its the link to where the image lives on SCF)

For example - here is a snippet from my export on my Perreault Dominion Rainbow

    Code:
    Hockey	2010-11	Dominion	110	Gilbert Perreault	S#	PC	1	0	http://opg.sportscardforum.com/scf/i...e/show/1038111	7052476
    Hockey	2010-11	Dominion Black	110	Gilbert Perreault	S#	PC	1	0	http://opg.sportscardforum.com/scf/i...e/show/1038112	7052874
    Hockey	2010-11	Dominion Emerald	110	Gilbert Perreault	S#	PC	1	0	http://opg.sportscardforum.com/scf/i...e/show/1038114	7053181
    Hockey	2010-11	Dominion Sapphire	110	Gilbert Perreault	S#	PC	1	0	http://opg.sportscardforum.com/scf/i...e/show/1038128	7055745
    Hockey	2010-11	Dominion Signatures Black	110	Gilbert Perreault	AU S#	PC	1	0	http://opg.sportscardforum.com/scf/i...e/show/1038129	7055897
    Hockey	2010-11	Dominion Signatures Ruby	110	Gilbert Perreault	AU S#	PC	1	0	http://opg.sportscardforum.com/scf/i...e/show/1038248	7056030
    Hockey	2010-11	Dominion Signatures Sapphire	110	Gilbert Perreault	AU S#	PC	1	0	http://opg.sportscardforum.com/scf/i...e/show/1038249	7056164

If the image is tied to the card, you will have the link in which you can then do something with

If you wanted to post this onto an SCF Buy/Sell or Trade thread, you could wrap IMG tags around the link

you also can add a /thumb to the end of the link

    http://opg.sportscardforum.com/scf/i.../1038249/thumb

Which would give you the following looking link if you wrap an IMG tag around it

    Sorry for being long winded.
