Why would they pick a RB when they already have one that is pretty good (not great but pretty good, plus they didnt know Davis was going to get hurt). The lions do that with WR's and look where they are.

Also, if Barry Sanders cant make a team win, then why would Reggie Bush? It takes more than one player to make a team win, not just the best player in college.

it comes down to needs....it isn't the same as the middle/late rounds when you automatically take the "best" player on the board....the texans figured that there bigest need was on the other side of the ball....of course williams' #s arent gonna be flashy, he is a defensive lineman (who runs like a safety!!)....look at all the "draft busts" from the last 15-20 years....dont hear much about defensive guys!! there is not as much of a change from college to the pros, especially as a linemen....if you are strong, fast, and smart it is all pretty much the same!! a few different blitz packages, formation changes, etc but nothing major....the offense is TOTALLY different!! defenses are faster, playbooks are 4 times as thick, responsibilities are greater, etc....i think it was a safe move for the texans.....lets not forget, that there were atleast 10 other teams that had mario rated just as high, if not higher than bush!!
