    Newbie (Blazer fan!)

Hello all. I'm a newbie to the site, thanks for allowing me to become a part of the group! I'm pretty excited to start working on TTMs.

A little about me. I got my first autograph from Clyde Drexler back on Oct 6, 1992. I was 12. The Blazers hosted a scrimmage at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon and a few of us waited quite a long time after the game for autographs. The only card I had on me was a 89-90 NBA Hoops card and because the front of the card was pretty dark, I asked him to sign the back. Hands down it has remained my #1 favorite piece of memorabilia I've collected over the years. Fast forward to the beginning of the 2017-18 season and I had yet to ever ask or collect autograph cards / memorabilia since then. My daughter is a big Mason Plumlee fan and because her 10th birthday just happened to fall on a day when Denver was playing Portland in Portland (I know, what are the odds), we decided we'd try and get Mason Plumlee's autograph. So we go there early, were the first in line, and when the doors opened up, we went right down and he was standing by the entrance to the visitor's gate and we asked for an autograph. That easy. He signed my daughter's Nets jersey, my son's card, and my red Blazer hat. Super rad!

Since then, it sort of spurred a new desire to start collecting more autographs, both in person and via TTM. Interestingly, my first TTM was also from Mason Plumlee. I had sent a letter and one card before my daughter's birthday hoping I would get it back before her birthday so I could surprise her but we didn't receive anything. Didn't really matter though because we ended up with 3 autographs the night of my daughter's birthday. A few weeks later we did receive the signed card in the mail.

And then, again when Denver came to Portland just a few weeks ago, my daughter and I collected a TON of signatures from the Denver Nuggets. She brought a new pair of Nike's and we were able to get 12 players to sign. We only missed Nikola Jokic (because he wasn't out practicing with the team) and Malik Beasley and Monté Morris. Additionally, Mason Plumlee signed my son's hat and Jamal Murray signed two cards. 15 signatures in one night wasn't too bad!

I just started sending out TTMs. In fact, I sent a few out on Dec 22 and another half dozen this week. Mostly to basketball players, a couple current but mostly retired.

If you have ANY advice, I'd LOVE to hear it!
