I don't have cable TV anymore, so I've just caught a few minutes here and there of various events from NBC's Live Streams page. Also watched day-after uploaded YouTube videos of some of the figure skating, including Chen's six quads in the long program.

I don't know if you know this or not but you can pick up NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS, CW, PBS, and more for free with a TV antenna. Congress passed a law years ago making the wave space they use available for homeowners to get by using an antenna. I know it is relative to the location of your house getting the reception from the stations but I get almost 30 different channels now. They add about 1 new channel every couple of months. All you have to do is buy the antenna or make one and everything after that is FREE. I stopped getting cable a couple of years ago and haven't missed it. Totally worth it to save all that money since you can't possibly watch enough television to make it worth it whatever they are charging for cable now. When I stopped it was $110 a month for cable. A total ripoff.

Yeah my dad has one at his house, and it worked the same way. I live in an apartment right now, but my husband and I are transitioning to a house by May, so maybe I'll think about it. Thanks for reminding me about that option. I'd forgotten until you brought it up.

Curling. Tons of curling.
Even now, post-Olympics, the Tim Horton's Brier is going on. I'll be watching it a lot.

I watched a lot of curling on the final couple of days. I still don't completely understand the sport, but I learned a lot. It's very strategic and oddly fascinating.

Think billiards, darts, and bocce combined together on ice. Basically, get your rocks closer to the center than your opponent's closest rock, pick up a point for each, repeat ten times. The strategy behind it can be tough to get-- I don't even fully follow it at times, but it comes with watching to where I can at least understand why they made a certain shot.
