Love addresses panic attacks and mental health

    http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/2...ic-attack-game

After DeRozan came out about his battle with depression, Love admitted he suffers from panic attacks.

I used to have those on occasion when I was younger, but haven't had any since my early twenties. I do remember they are awful. Not sure what causes them, but hopefully for Love, they will stop happening over time.

I was just about to post about that here. The full article Kevin wrote himself for The Player's Tribune can be found here

I have dealt with panic attacks as a kid/teen, then it was and still is anxiety/depression. I have had 2 anxiety breakdowns and take a pill to cope with the anxiety. I have had 2 wonderful Mental Health instructors and have really dealt with my anxiety issues and a lot of things from my past have been dealt with and I have become a better person. I now am a Leader in Celebrate Recovery and I am helping others who have hurts, habits and hangups and be are dealing with problems from our past. Most of us were like DeMar and Kevin and didn't realize we had a problem. Mental Health issues are a big problem and most people don't want to see a Mental Health person or get medicated but you really need to.

Maybe with athletes talking about Mental Health more people will see we can use help and seek it and control the hurts, habits and hangups.

Good discussion. And yeah I just read Love's full article over at the Tribune. Very thoughtful. He is correct that everyone is going through something you can't see. People often can't "see" my autism because I'm high functioning and appear normal when there aren't stressors in my environment, but inwardly, I have to expend much more effort than the average person to understand social cues and situations, and how to handle each appropriately. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 29; prior to that, people had no idea why I had so many failures in jobs and friendships after doing so well academically.
