As Browns Trade for Jarvis Landry, Tyrod Taylor and Damarious Randall, Sashi Brown Can’t Be Ignored

Cleveland fans often disagreed with former general manager Sashi Brown and his analytical approach to the game, but on a day like Friday, when the Browns traded for Jarvis Landry, Tyrod Taylor and Damarious Randall, it’s clear that he leaves somewhat of a complicated legacy behind.

In the two years that Brown was in charge, Cleveland won just one game, and the franchise sank new lows competitively. The team flirted with whatever the NFL’s version of tanking is and angered the established order. But the financial war chest that Brown created, including a stable of draft picks that—even after Friday’s deal—leaves them in command of the draft, is something that should not be forgotten.

I feel like the Browns just told the entire NFL who they're drafting at #1 and #4 which isn't smart ... had they planned to draft Darnold, Rosen or Mayfield they would not have traded for Tyrod Taylor as all three of those guys are ready to start from Day 1. That said, in trading for Tyrod I think they let the entire NFL know they are planning to draft Saquon at #1 and Josh Allen (best arm talent in the draft but also the most raw prospect who could use a year to sit and learn) at #4 ... that was unwise imho as now a team that loves Allen (Cardinals, Bills, Dolphins, Bengals?) could trade up to #3 and snag him in front of the Browns.

Yup even when the Browns "win" they still end up losing. A very poorly run franchise that basically could have screwed up their draft to acquire Taylor. Think about that for a second I mean the Bills could have ended up releasing this guy and the Browns were so thirsty to acquire him they could end up doing damage to the rest of their draft.
