TRISTAR ANNOUNCES INITIAL AUTOGRAPH GUEST LIST FOR 2018 NATIONAL!

Tristar Productions has announced the initial list of signers for the 39th National Sports Collectors Convention at the International (IX) Center in Cleveland OH, August 1-5, 2018.

The list includes Hall of Famers from every sport and is sure to be a hit with attendees at the National. Ticket prices and the schedule of guest appearances will be announced by Tristar on their web site in early to mid June.

Baseball is always well represented at the National. This year is no exception. Cleveland fans will be happy to see 2-time AL Cy Young Award Winner Corey Kluber at the National. 2018 Hall of Fame Inductees Jack Morris and Alan Trammell will be on hand just after their Cooperstown Ceremony the previous weekend. They will be joined by fellow Hall of Famers including Robbie Alomar, Johnny Bench, Dennis Eckersley, Wade Boggs, Rod Carew, Steve Carlton, Andre Dawson, Reggie Jackson, Rickey Henderson, Bob Gibson, Randy Johnson, Rich "Goose" Gossage, Tony LaRussa, Al Kaline, Eddie Murray, Tim Raines, and Gaylord Perry. Other Hall of Famers appearing include Jim Rice, Cal Ripken, Jr., Ozzie Smith, Bruce Sutter, Dave Winfield and Robin Yount. Also appearing will be Roger Clemens, Dwight Evans, Mark Grace, Fred Lynn and Pete Rose.

With the Pro Football Hall of Fame just a few miles away in Canton, there will be a great group of football signers at the show. Legendary Browns star QBBernie Kosar and Bengals Great Kenny Anderson will be guests at the 2018 National. 2018 NFL Hall of Fame Inductees Jerry Kramer and Robert Brazile will be signing. They will be joined by Barry Sanders, Bob Lilly, The Original "LT" Lawrence Taylor, Earl Campbell, Dick Butkus, Bob Griese, Jim Kelly, Andre Reed, Bruce Smith, Jason Taylor, Thurman Thomas, Randy White and Jack Youngblood. A large contingent of former Pittsburgh Steelers will appear including "The Bus" Jerome Bettis, "Mean" Joe Greene, Jack Ham, Franco Harris, Jack Lambert, Andy Russell, Donnie Shell, Mike Wagner and Rocky Bleier. In addition a group of former Ohio State Heisman Winners including Eddie George, Archie Griffin and Troy Smith will be on hand.

Hockey Hall of Famers Ray Bourque and Phil Esposito will sign. The 1980 "Miracle on Ice" Goalie Jim Craig, who led Team USA to an improbable gold medal will also be a guest. Basketball greats Hall of Famer Artis Gilmore and the always popular Christian Laettner will join us in Cleveland. Boxing Hall of Famer and now Broadway and Hollywood Star Mike Tyson is also a signer.

Finally, Movie Legends Tom Berenger and Corbin Bernsen from the movie "Major League" will be signers along with TV Star Barbara Eden "I Dream of Jeannie".

For anyone coming on a VIP/SuperVIP ticket, Marty Cordova, Gregg Jefferies, Benito Santiago, and Charles White are the free signers so far for us. Expect another 15 or so to be announced still.

Smart money is on Len Barker, Joe Charbonneau, Sonny Siebert, and Kevin Mack to be among them.

Definitely is. I already have a photo ready that I just need to print, and also need him on his 1988 Diamond Kings. The friend that's going with me has a ton he wants to get him on. So needless to say anyone with extra autograph tickets, we could use them (I'll need an extra on White too).

As for my predictions, the baseball guys have been at every Cleveland National since 2007 (maybe even 2004 or 2001 on Barker), and Mack has been at each since 2009. Yes, I'm the guy who calculates all of that stuff out.

88 Dk really. You putting a autograph set together of all the players in that set I guess? Your friend will have a lot of success picking up extra vip on the National app once they start getting active. I seen tons of people selling their extras on there. Just a tip if you not loaded it up for the near future.

Awesome, we'll check out the app for sure.

As for the DKs, I'm trying to get as many of the 1982-1991 DKs signed as I can. Out of 262 cards, I have 54 done so far. My autograph projects (of which I have entirely too many) currently look like this...

    BASEBALL
    1972 Topps (265/861)
    1982-1991 Diamond Kings (54/262)
    2003 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites (53/150)
    2004 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites (63/149)
    2005 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites (54/142)
    2013 Topps Archives #1-50 (8/49)
    2013 Topps Mini '72 Inserts (11/95)

    FOOTBALL
    2004 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites (41/85)
Heisman Winners on custom index cards (15/81)

    HOCKEY
    2001-02 Topps/OPC Archives (62/78)
    2002-03 Fleer Throwbacks (69/90)
    2002-03 Topps Total (426/440)
2005-06 Upper Deck Rookie Class (41/50)
2006-07 Upper Deck Rookie Class (39/50)
2007-08 Upper Deck Rookie Class (49/50)
2008-09 Upper Deck Rookie Class (45/50)

    INDOOR SOCCER
    1987-88 Pacific MISL (108/127)
    1988-89 Pacific MISL (86/113)
    1989-90 Pacific MISL (95/114)
    1990-91 Pacific MISL (177.257)
    1991-92 Pacific MISL (140/192)
    1991-92 Soccer Shots MISL (7/120)
    1992-93 Pacific NPSL (18/120)

So I'll be looking to fill in some of those for cheap if possible. At the very least, for any TTM or IP autograph collector I talk to at any time during the trip, I'm making business cards with my collecting interests on them so I can easily just hand those out to anyone instead of hoping they remember me later. I'm also doing one (not shown below; normal business card size in the old T-205 style-- the front can be seen on my profile page here) to promote the Facebook autograph groups I run.

    Awesome customs, Drew!

Thanks! I've been messing with Photoshop since my college days so I've gotten to be decent at replicating designs as long as they're fairly simple. The 1972 Topps one is my first real venture into something more complicated, but I think I pulled it off reasonably well. Font matching is the toughest part on a lot of them.
