Ravens Sign QB Robert Griffin III

    https://www.profootballrumors.com/20...rt-griffin-iii

The Ravens have signed quarterback Robert Griffin III to a one-year deal, the club announced today. It’s a $1MM deal with a small signing bonus, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com tweets.

Baltimore has reportedly had interest in Griffin for some time, as the team nearly signed the former No. 2 overall pick last season. Griffin also turned down an offer from the Cardinals, and eventually sat out the entirety of the 2017 campaign. The Ravens recently brought in Griffin for a workout, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, and a subsequent visit led to a deal that was hammered out on Tuesday night.

Flacco is beyond needing veteran mentorship, I imagine if RG3 can prove he still has a viable skillset he can push Flacco to compete at a higher level and shake the status quo a bit. If he does well it may be a situation where the Ravens can trade RG3 for a 2019 draft pick if injuries start up.

Thanks! Was active many years on Beckett but the football section is all but dead these days. Lots of quality guys there but it's a ghost town. I'm happy to see a vibrant community here!

Definitely an interesting signing. He doesn't have much wear and tear on the body, and the knee should be good again, just hope the accuracy is there. This should help out Flacco, but I hope that RGIII can get himself on the field next year.
