A really good book I have read is, " The Code" by Ross Bernstein . It deals with the role of enforcers in hockey and their unwritten rules. Also if you like slap shot, Dave Hanson's book or The Making of Slap Shot are both good reads

Tretiak the Legend ... awesome book that discusses Tretiak's time in hockey. I personally loved the stories about his playing days with the Red Army, the famed 1972 Canada/USSR series, his recollection of Lake Placid, and how brutal yet efficient Victor Tikhonov was as a coach.

Any hockey book by Ken Dryden. "The Game" was already mentioned and I would also strongly recommend "Game Change" if the concussion epidemic resonates with you at all.

Ken Reid's "Hockey Card Stories" is also a pretty cool one for the hobbyist. It's very light reading, but still cool.
Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...
