    I have a 51 Bowman mantle with a cut auto(HA original) There was no Mantle in the 54 Topps set.

    Actually it's an E6. Mantle came up as a shortstop originally but was moved to right field because the Yankees had Rizzuto at short. He actually wore #6 his first year as well. Changed his uniform number to 7 the next year.

    In 1954 and 55, Mantle had exclusive contract with Bowman and Topps could not produce his cards for their sets. So, there are 52 and 53 Topps Mantle cards, and then the Mick isn't seen on a Topps card until 56.
