Teaser Gallery: Panini America Opens Boxes of 2018 Contenders Draft Picks Football
One of the great things about having a football draft class as stacked and as potential packed as the upcoming 2018 edition is that the Panini America college football products created to chronicle that class is every bit as stacked and as potential packed. Case in point: The Friday-releasing 2018 Contenders Draft Picks Football. A product brimming with a deep checklist of highlight possibilities and Contenders calling cards such as Cracked Ice parallels, key on-card autographs and more.

Good! Let them see for themselves how much of a garbage series/set it is, at least so far. Was in a huge break of this last week, it's mostly base cards, with a few autos here and there. ZERO fabrics or swatches, autos weren't very good either. Why bother releasing it BEFORE the draft? They could've done so much with it, but chose to rush out a crappy product, filled with mostly cheap base cards. Stay clear of this everyone until/unless they update the set. Otherwise, you're getting nothing but mostly base cards and an occasional auto, absolutely ZERO:swatches/patches/etc.
Save your money for something else.Last edited by McMahonFan; 04-19-2018 at 10:21 AM.

Because it's been released before the draft every year?
For some of these guys, their being drafted is what will generate the most hype, and the biggest secondary-market sales. Having this out pre-draft guarantees that the moment a guy gets drafted there are already items out there of them available to fans of that drafting team and some impulse buyer will jump on it.
As for the jersey cards, Contenders has never been a mem product in any other year or sport, so with that grips it feels like you're just looking for something to complain about.
You were in a "a huge break of this last week" you say? The release date is tomorrow. How is that?Last edited by *censored*; 04-19-2018 at 10:25 AM.

And I'm wrong.. It's the Elite draft picks that's awful, not this one. Got them confused, disregard but stay away from elite draft picks, it's garbage.
It was a complete waste of money ImoLast edited by McMahonFan; 04-20-2018 at 10:40 PM.

Thats why you buy singles and/or wait for price drops...
fun fact; did you hobby boxes/cases drop nearly 60% after three years. Better fact, singles drop off about 90% depending on the player.

You have a article or links to back up these facts. I agree not so sure on the percentage. If you do please share.

Hey Don,
like i said it fully depends on the player, but take a look at the entire draft class from 2009-2014 and soon 2015. There’s literally only a handful of players that have maintained their peak prices. References: i guess ebay.com and worthpoint.com.

That's pretty typical of every rookie class in every sport though. How are those Gregg Jefferies and Kevin Maas rookies holding up?
Or in a football setting, are Rocket Ismail and Andre Ware still selling well?
