    2018 NFL Draft Results

Day 1 is history and the first round is locked in. Wikipedia usually has a nice listing of drafted players with sortable columns and not a ton of filler. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_NFL_Draft

Aside from the 5 QBs taken in the first round, tying the 1999 draft and one behind the 183 draft, I found these stats interesting:

    • 3 running backs taken in the first round - clearly teams are finding value in the position again after the market has been soft on the position for years.
    • 2 wide receivers - fewer WRs taken than RBs and both went in the mid-20s
    • 2 centers in the first - after 3 total getting drafted between 2012-2017 in the first. 2009 was the last time two centers were drafted in the first round (Alex Mac, CLE, and Eric Wood, BUF)
    • The Ravens were very smart to grab Lamar Jackson in the first round. They now have a cost-controlled 5th year option since he was in the first instead of the second round.
    • I did not see Saquon Barkley going second overall but he's an excellent fit for the Giants who have not had a consistent running back option since Ahmad Bradshaw last put up 1,000 yards in 2012. But their last dual threat RB was Tiki Barber who hung up his cleats back in 2006
