No seriously I think Gleyber has this thing in the bag or he should because he was the Yankees #1 prospect and Andujar was a bit below him in the rankings so in theory Gleyber should be better but hopefully both do very well this season.

Yeah hoping they both can keep it up the Yankees are going to need that high level of production from both of them. If they keep this pace up it's going to be a photo finish no doubt and both have been instrumental in the Yankees success with key hits. And though there's the argument of Torres being the #1 prospect it also makes the assumption that while he's doing better than advertised it was expected that he succeed. Andujar play especially in the field wasn't so predicted by the most lenient scouting report. Add the fact if he continues at this level he will have a tremendous butterfly effect on the upcoming Winter Free Agency likely taking the Yankees out of the running for Machado completely. That could very well affect the earnings potential of Machado altogether. They both are gems and it's luck the Yankees have them and hopefully for a very long time.

If I was the Yankees I wouldn't touch Machado. They really need another pitcher and to figure out this roster. They have too many guys playing the same positions so they either need to trade, play, or release them. And actually they have too many guys who are basically duplicates of one another. Not much difference between a lot of these guys other than their salaries since they can all do the same things.

Yeah never really been interested in adding Machado's contract. Andujar is younger and will offer the production and payroll flexibility for quite a few more years I think by years end the clamouring of Yankees fans to sign Machado will be a distant memory to be laughed at during dinner parties. As for the rotation Tanaka will be back in a few weeks. If Loaisiga can just keep games close the Yankees will be alright. German keeps improving every outing so he'll be fine in place of Montgomery. So for this year pitching is not a major concern. Sure it's a misfit, ragtag, broken, and very questionable rotation but it's a rotation that went through two weeks of the Angels, Red Sox, Indians, and Astros I for one believe they can hold their own down the stretch. During the playoffs they'll only need four starters even using three starters and using the fourth and fifth starters as long relief with a deep bullpen is likely to offset a better rotation if the offense is in stride during the place. However next year is when they'll need pitching with CC likely to retire and Montgomery still unavailable so any trade of top prospects shouldn't be for a rental for a playoff run. it should be with an eye on 2019 and beyond.

It could be anyone, and maybe neither one of those. Go back in MLB history and look at Willie McCovey. In his "rookie" year he played only 50 some games and WON the N L Rookie of the year. Most teams STILL have 85-90 games left. Therefore, the 2018 "Willie McCovey" may be just waiting to be called up and have a great part of a season that could lead to a "Rookie of the Year" award.

Well if they robbed Sanchez in 2016 that "Willie McCovey" player will probably have to out-McCovey McCovey at this point. Because what Sanchez did was nothing short of shock and awe.
