With the first pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, the Phoenix Suns select…
Well, who will they select? Will it even be the Phoenix Suns making that selection or will it be another team wit the #1 overall pick after completing a blockbuster trade? As it stands, it’s anyone’s guess. That’s where we come in. We are providing you with our 2018 NBA Mock Draft for the top-10 picks. We’re not experts by any means, but it’s always fun to pretend to be a GM or team owner making decisions.
Enjoy our mock draft and tune in to ESPN tonight at 7pm EST to see how accurate we were!

1) Deandre Ayton – Phoenix Suns

It’s no surprise that Ayton is projected to be the #1 pick whether the Suns stay at the top of the draft or not. Deandre dominated the Pac-12 in his freshman season with 20.1 PPG and 11.6 RPG to win the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year awards while being named First Team All-Pac-12 and a Consensus First-Team All-American.
2) Marvin Bagley III – Sacramento Kings

Bagley played one season at Duke and what a season it was. He was named ACC Rookie of the Year, ACC Player of the Year, First Team All-ACC, and also won the Pete Newell Big Man Award after averaging 21 PPG and 11.1 RPG . Marvin is just what Sacramento needs to re-energize their franchise!
3) Luka Doncic – Atlanta Hawks

Doncic is a 19-year old Slovenian professional basketball player for Real Madrid of the Liga ACB and EuroLeague and is currently projected as a Top-3 pick in tonight’s draft. Many feel that he should be the #1 pick after being named the 2018 EuroLeague MVP, EuroLeague Final Four MVP, and EuroLeague All-First Team while leading hsi team to the EuroLeague Championship.
4) Jaren Jackson Jr. – Memphis Grizzlies

Jaren has one thing on his resume that Ayton and Bagley don’t have on theirs. He won his conference’s Defensive Player of the Year Award. Jackson, the son of former NBA player Jaren Jackson, added that award to his trophy case while also being named Big 10 Freshman of the Year. But, don’t let that fool you. He’s a well-rounded player that can defend, score, and handle the ball whenever the needs arises. He could end up being the player we talk about the most when we look back at this draft class.
5) Michael Porter Jr. – Dallas Mavericks

Just one week shy of turning 20, Porter looks to prove that even though he didn’t walk away with the hardware that many others on this list have, he will instantly fit into today’s NBA scene as a 6’10” ball-handling scorer.
6) Mo Bamba – Orlando Magic

Bamba instantly reminds me of former top-pick and NBA legend Dikembe Mutombo with his 7’10” wingspan and his lean, muscular body type. Mo averaged 17.8 points and 5.0 blocks per 40 minutes in his 2017-18 season and there should be no reason he can’t average those same types of numbers in the NBA during his rookie season no matter what team selects him in the first round.
7) Wendell Carter Jr. – Chicago Bulls

Carter is a 6’10” center from Duke who is a physical and aggressive player looking to make an impact, possibly for the Bulls, during his rookie season. Wendell most likely will move to the power forward position once he makes the transition to the NBA game, but that suits his game better as he’s a scorer that can have his back to the basket or face it and knock down the jumper.
8) Trae Young – Cleveland Cavaliers

Should LeBron leave ‘The Land,’ Young may be the perfect pick to give the organization a high-profile face should they choose to hit the reset button or he could also be a nice replacement and slide right into Cleveland’s starting lineup and post a solid 20 PPG in his rookie season. Either way
9) Collin Sexton – New York Knicks

Sexton looks to be the backcourt help the Knicks need. He has shown that he can be a leader even as freshman at Alabama, but more than that he’s a scorer and he proved that after averaging 19.2 PPG in the 2017-18 season. The New York fans will also appreciate his physicality as a guard. He’s not afraid of contact on either side of the ball.
10) Mikal Bridges – Philadelphia 76ers

Look for the 76ers to select the hometown-hero who helped lead Villanova to two National Championships in his four seasons with the Wildcats. Bridges is just what the 76ers need to round out the young core they already have with Simmons, Fultz, and Embiid and lead the way for years to come.
