ebay or Sports Card Direct?
Hi folks,
Just wondering how many of you prefer ebay over Sports Card Direct or vice-versa?
Here's the link to Sports Card Direct:
https://www.sportscarddirect.com/
What are the differences? Pros and cons of each?

Link to sports card direct added. Possibly a new site looking to be a viable alternative to ebay.
Please check it out and let me know your thoughts folks!Last edited by Leafsman; 08-10-2018 at 11:06 PM.

I had a look. Interface works alright, i guess. The couple of searches i tried gave few results though. I searched "ranford" and got 7 cards. I get thousands of results on ebay.
I'm all for new sites, and alternatives to eBay though. I can say right away that if something i wanted was available there... I'd use it.

i tried it a few times as well.
shipping is very expensive to Canada if the sellers even send up here who knows its not in anybodys description.
cards are limited, prices are high probably because its not an auction. i have emailed a couple sellers looking to negotiate pricing but no one has responded.
as a seller i have listed a couple hundred cards and at low prices to establish a reputation but havent received a single enquiry.
baseball and football seem to sell a bit.
so maybe i try again in the future.
feebay is only better because of volume.
i wish there was another optionLast edited by icefields; 08-10-2018 at 11:57 PM.

Looking at the "About Us" page, it says it is "The International OnlineClassifieds Section for SportsCard Enthusiasts".
The mission statement says "Sports Card Direct aims to give collectors a trustworthy site that gives them the tools they need to foster their passion, as well as to bring back the fun and excitement of the backyard exchanges."
The owner is from Pinawa, Manitoba so it may be a Canadian site. The thing is folks, if this is a classifieds-type site, I'm guessing we add the cards ourselves in our listings. There are 247 pages of results so far. There is an option to contact the site if anybody wants to try it.
If someone gives it a try, please let me know what happens!Last edited by Leafsman; 08-11-2018 at 01:10 AM.

Talking from my experience I prefer ebay.
I bought 1 or 2 cards of Mike Smith on sportscarddirect.
It needs more work and some of the cards you bought are still there after weeks.
So you don't know what's currently "on stock"PC: MIKE SMITH

sportscarddirect is not a new site at all, been around quite a while. I haven't been to it in awhile but I remember checking it out a couple years ago and the website needed alot work...which just seemed to never happen. I suspect the site is in the same state which was years behind ebay or COMC

New sites are always good for the collector. More opportunities to find things you need. But I would prefer eBay, as there is more of a chance something I need will pop up there instead of SCD's site.

eBay by a country mile. I like SCD, it’s a cool alternative, but it has 7 Carey Price cards on it.
