Cardinals, especially since you could put Stan in LF with Albert at 1B.

It's a roster with a Top 10 All Time player at every position on the field other than CF (and you could argue that Edmonds fits there too) plus arguably the top 1B, 2B, and a top 2 or 3 LF or RF (depending on where Stan plays) of all time.

Plus I wouldn't bet against any team with Bob Gibson on it.
I PC Jeff Frye, Ozzie Smith, and Jeff Bagwell.

No Greg Maddux on the CUBS "SP" ? Based on "history", and your list, it has to be the CARDINALS. The CARDINALS, of N L teams, have won the most W S (the Yankees hold the record for all MLB though).

Think he's sorting teams and positions by fWAR leaderboards which is fine but it leaves off guys like Maddux for the Cubs and Carlton for the Cardinals because they spent bulk amounts of their career elsewhere.

I also voted for the Cards. I thought I would originally vote for the Cubs, but in looking at those rosters the Cards take it.

C: Hartnett and Kling over Simmons (should be in the HoF) and Yadi (will be in the HoF)? No way. Hartnett was great but Kling was just okay.
    1B: Agreed
2B: Hard to argue with the greatest 2B of all time.
    3B: Wash
SS: Banks was great but spent most of his career at 1B. Cards here too by a bit.
LF: I'd actually call it a wash with the two players listed**
CF: Cards again. Edmonds was better than Hack and Flood much better than Ryan.
RF: Cardinals again. Slaughter lost three prime years to WWII and he's still a top 15 all time RF. Sosa and Nicholson? Not so much.
SP: Every Cards pitcher on that list is better than his Cubs counterpart except Jesse Haines and Pete Alexander.
RP: I agree the Cubs have this one though 2/5 pitchers on the Cubs list pitched for the Cards too.

** Musial played more innings in the corner OF spots than he did 1B. If you plug him into LF and leave Pujols at 1B the whole lists shifts and it's decidedly Cardinal heavy.

I went with the Cardinals with Bob Gibson putting them over the top. But both teams have absolutely loaded lineups.
