Asheville — WLOS - For more than a quarter century the best players from the best basketball conference in college basketball have trekked up the mountains to play an exhibition game once their senior seasons have wrapped up. Grant Hill was the first superstar to play in the Crossfire vs. ACC All-Star game in 1995, and since then the likes on Mason Plumlee, Joel Berry, and Tim Duncan are just a few of the fan favorites that have appeared in the game. The game resembles the NBA All-Star game in a lot of aspects, with the departing seniors being given a chance to strut their stuff; however, the core of the event is the halftime outreach service. Co-founder of Crossfire Ministry Randy Shepherd shares his testimony and the Gospel to both the teams and fans. "We love basketball and Western North Carolina loves basketball, but the greatest thing for Crossfire is sharing our faith as Christian athletes," explained Shepherd. "The game will be awesome but the relationship with the Lord will last forever."
