One of the suggestions that was made by several members was a better way to delete threads. There are number of reason that I do not want to delete threads from database integrity and also searchability of older threads on google, bing and other search engines. However, allowing you to indicate which threads can be closed and then allowing us to archive is something that has been in place already, but it was labeled as SOLD.

Thus, the modification was made to allow generalize this to MEMBER CLOSED.

How does it work?

1) On a thread in the Sport Trading, Buy/Sell forums that you started, you will see an option at the top for Thread Tools. When you select this, you will see an option for Close This Thread

When you select that option, you will see a message that will confirm the change and take you back to the thread.

Once back at the thread, you should see a Prefix of [MEMBER CLOSED] in the Breadcrumb trail of the thread.

What this will allow us to do is to do a search of the Prefix and move any threads that are marked as [MEMBER CLOSED] and place them into the Archives.

If you need to reopen the thread BEFORE the moving of the thread into the Archives, then you will be able to reverse the process to select Re-open This Thread

Question, please ask.
