Downsizing my MiLB signed cards
My father in law passed away last October I started to re evaluate my collecting.
I started to look at things but was not pushing myself.
Well I started to look harder the last 2 months. I had my yearly physical in March and my A1C for sugar was high. Since I am a soda drinker along with pizza and pasta the carb thing is on me so I have started to cut back. But during my prostate check he found something. I went to my urologist and he found it also. The PSA test was normal but he wanted to do a biopsy which was done on May 15th.They took 12 core samples.
During these 2 months I had quite a bit of apprehension, anxiety and day dreamed quite a bit thinking about "what if". Your mind really works more on the negative than the positive and in my case even when you are trying to fall asleep. The what ifs really played on me and I decided whether good or bad I was really going to start getting rid of items.
I started to write this during the waiting time.
My collection is very small but there might be something someone needs to fill their collection
I know I started on some MiLB cards but now I am going all out except for some Atlantic League and Somerset Patriots items.
What I have decide to focus on keeping and collecting is:
1. Working to complete as best as I can the 87 Topps set. I have approx. 145 to go.
2. Try to get as many Orioles autos as possible.
3. Still on occasion collect Rookie cards.
In the future when it comes for me to do 50/50's or any work on the Atlantic League I would like to try to get for my side one of the 3 options above.
I am not a fan of consignment but if I have to then we can do that
Here is a list of cards I am starting to get rid of.
If the cards do not move here or what ever is left I will try to sell at my wife's fall yard sale.
I would rather try to fill the ranks of members instead of my wife's yard sale.
Just let me know and we can work things out
Also I received my results back and all cores samples were benign. So a weight has been lifted of my chest.
I do not have to return for 1 year as they think it was just an inflammation of the prostate that showed all the signs
