New member from Oklahoma. PSA order question.
Hello all! I use to collect cards growing up, as a kid. I fell out of the hobby, but have gotten back into it, over the past year. I'm excited to join the community! I've read some threads, from the SCF community, and it seems to be a place of sharing tips and knowledge of the hobby. As I'm just now getting back into the hobby, I have many questions. One that's really been bugging me is related to sending in a grading order to PSA. I have never sent any cards to PSA, but I really want to start. Here's my question (forgive me if it's already been asked on the forum. I did not read it, anywhere): what do you all put down on the "Declared Value," on the order form? Do you put the real value of your cards (or as close as you can come to real price)? Do you over price them, in case something bad happens? Do you undervalue them, to make the overall order cost less?
Thank, in advance, for any help!
Again, I'm excited to join the community!

OkchamaliLakna4- Welcome to SCF! I collect graded cards, but unfortunately, I have no experience with sending cards in. I am sure other members can help out with this.
Always Looking for:
A) Graded Vintage (Pre-1980) (BGS, BVG, PSA, SGC) in all sports
B) Graded True RC's (No inserts or parallels) (BGS, PSA, SGC) in all sports
C) Certified Auto and GU cards of players from the 70's and further back in all sports

OkchamaliLakna4 Poke around on the forum. Get with Joshmets31 as he does bulk submissions with PSA and can offer you a way better price. I will be doing Beckett grading submissions very soon. Have fun on the forum

Thank you, NiagSportsCards. Do you recommend Beckett? From what I've gathered, in the past year, getting back into the hobby, is that PSA generally has a better resale value. I'm really not solely concerned about resale value. Simple getting my cards slabbed, in a protective case, is just as important to me. Is Beckett cheaper? Thank you for the info!

I like Beckett because of the sub-grades were they give you a number grade on the flip for corners, centering, edges and surface. PSA 10 does do a little better than a BGS 9.5 but the Pristine 10 label from BGS out sells the PSA 10. BGS is more money to grade but there is no limit to declared value. I should have a 120 card BGS order back to me on Tuesday.

Inventory Manager Question
After looking more into Beckett, they've grown increasingly more appealing to me. One small factor, that I like, is that they're located in Dallas, and not California.
...
I've got another question for you...
Is there a way to get to a SCF member's inventory manager from their SCF profile page? If there is, I can not find it anywhere.
I guess the only thing you can do is copy their username, go to the inventory manager, and paste their profile name in the inventory search?

Welcome to SCF Cody, hope you are enjoying yourself here! I never did a grading submission before, but I think they always just used Beckett Value to value their cards.
