    Hughie Lehman G
    Riley Hern G

Both of these men played in the pre-NHL era. Hern's career record consists of 61 games with a 4.6 GAA. Lehman typically played in 20 or less games per season in various professional but he is best known for his time with the Vancouver Millionaires, a team that included 7 other future HOF members.

Today, August 7th, I propose to eliminate

    Sergei Zubov

No individual awards or first team all-star selections

    and

    Rod Langway

2 excellent seasons where he won the Norris trophy and was a first team all-star, but outside of that not a remarkable career (329 points in 994 games).

I'm going to shrink the goalie list by a couple more this morning (and the Right Wing list?)

    Rat Westwick G–R

From what I can tell, he was a really good player in the late 1800s, but we can't keep a guy around whose career ended a year after Ford unveiled the Model T.

    Percy LeSueur G–RW

Like Westwick, he played so long ago, in a game what the so different, I can't leave him in here. Interestingly, he's credited with the idea of using a baseball glove (with extra padding) when playing goal.

Going to knockout another goalie as well:

    Bouse Hutton.

I have mad respect for those goaltenders who helped shape the position to what it is today. Playing hockey back in those days must have been incredibly challanging on the body, especially as a goalie.

He won a cup in the early days, but his career numbers aren't going to be able to matchup with the other HOF goalies on that list. No doubt they were impressive numbers back then though. They sadly don't hold that same substance today.

Just an FYI in case you missed it. You can eliminate 2 players a day, now.

Agreed. The goaltending poineers of the past played a fantastic role in developing the game and position, but sadly wouldn't be able to compete with modern goaltenders. That's okay and is expected, especially if constructing a best All-Time team from this HOF list.

Yep, missed this new 2 players a day rule.

My second elimination today will be Frank Foyston - C.

He played in what was a few professional leagues, but only 2 seasons in the NHL in that era. His career numbers across the board seem fine, but when creating a "best of" team, he doesn't make the cut in my mind. Simple as that.
