Fultoncards - Average Odds and Consumer Advocacy for Cards
I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Fultoncards, originally from Montreal, but live and direct from Brooklyn, NY. I am a consumer advocate, who shares his love of the game and hobby, and explains average odds over unlikely odds.
I invite everyone to subscribe to my . I do a very different style of box break. I focus on older boxes, and an appreciation for every player and card! I promote positive values regarding a team game, and the rich history of our sport. I also give my cards away to emphasize old school sentimentality as opposed to monetary value. I do not subscribe to "you never know" or "I might get lucky." We do know prices are hyper-inflated upon release, and chase card odds literally trend to zero probability. Boxes are a sunken cost from a person's entertainment budget that quarter upon box break. And card value trends down over time not up. Cards are not an investment; real estate is.
To me, it's not about "pulls" or high-end memorabilia, even if I am genuinely exuberant when my goalie mojo strikes again. It's about sentimentality, affordability, and price points commensurate with average pack odds. I believe kids and shallower pockets should drive the hobby, not just men who get an endorphin rush by gambling on or fetishizing The Cup cards, or a narrow subset of superstars, etc. I also like underscoring the comparative stats and all-time ranking of the various players, across eras. I do not break to just show what is in a box. I break down math and methodology.
Most importantly, I just love our hobby. And I don't believe trolling each other on social media over price points is good for our community. I think the hobby is simply something to share with family and friends. And to build a generosity of spirit.
yours,

Creasecollector, thanks. You have a serious social media presence, I've noticed. You know, I still have never been to the TO Expo. Maybe I'll go next year, and finally put some faces to these online spaces.

Thanks man, just trying to do my thing and have fun along the way.
If you ever get the chance to go to the Expo, I'd seriously recommend it. It's the place to be for card collectors (especially hockey).
