    Orioles discontinue fan sest

I forgot to post this the other day

The Orioles are celebrating in style this holiday season. And they are asking fans to join.

The club on Tuesday announced plans for the first-of-its-kind “Winter Warm-Up” event, set for Saturday, Dec. 14 at Camden Yards. Eutaw Street and the surrounding areas will be transformed into a festive experience for the event, which will feature local vendors, food trucks, holiday music, exclusive merchandise discounts and more.
Scheduled speakers at the event include general manager and executive vice president Mike Elias, assistant GM Sig Mejdel and manager Brandon Hyde. The event will run from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. ET.
For entry, fans will be asked to donate $5 or contribute a winter coat to benefit individuals and families in need at Paul’s Place, a local nonprofit. The Orioles' official team store will offer a 50% discount on all purchases for the duration of the event, and a 25% discount on all purchases at the Orioles Authentic Store. Exclusive gifts will also be given to the first 1,000 guests and 200 purchasers at the team store.
The first example of how the Orioles are re-imagining their community presence this winter, “Winter Warm-Up” is one of several new ways they hope to engage with fans this offseason. The goal is to create more personalized experiences that better allow fans to connect with players, alumni and the organization as a whole, designed with an eye toward prioritizing initiatives that will created the widest reach. The club has decided to discontinue FanFest, which had been held every winter since 1989.
