    Voting: Show & Tell Contest 12.0 - Week 10!

It was such a surprise to open an envelope after sending a letter to Mr Hockey and for the cost of two stamps getting this in return. I had sent out two letters and actually got another one that is different a couple weeks later too. This one is also signed by Mrs Hockey too!

It's been a while since I added to it, maybe time to start again.

In February 2004 I went to a Meet & Greet with Minnesota Wild player Marian Gaborik. I had recently redeemed a BAP Ultimate "Made To Order" card. I selected Gaborik. I showed Marian the card and he thought it was really cool. These cards that year came in a velvet pouch. Because the card was slabbed, I had him autograph the pouch instead. One of my most prized cards....from a sentimental standpoint.

Here is mine for this week. It is a signed Leaf jersey from a Alumni game that I had all the players sign including Wendel Clark, Gary Leeman, Shayne Corson, Darcy Tucker, Al Iafrate and many others. What makes it special for me is that it is the jersey that I wore for the Leaf alumni team during the game. Now I am not a young kid at 53 years old and this past April I had the chance to participate in this game which was a once in a lifetime opportunity. The game was to support Mental Health and raised $40,000 for our community. I haven't played hockey in quite a few years but had a fantastic time and got to enjoy the banter with the players. Shayne Corson was the most supportive of me in the game and he is a funny guy to associate with. Anyway here is my entry!

And a few pictures from the event. I'm the shortest Leaf out there beside Corson.

And that's me at the left beside Iafrate:

Not often you can get a goalie to sign a different player's card when he's actively being scored against. And as a bonus, the goal scorer signed another version of the card

got this card from my brother in law a few years back, he was working at the bank and called me to tell me that John Tavares is coming to see him the next day, so he was good enough to get this card he had signed by John.

    Pretty cool I think
