Not too many opportunities at this time, but decided to drive to Kenosha, WI, to try to get former MLB catcher Donnie Scott, who is managing the K-Town Bobbers, a college team put together when the Northwoods League cancelled their season. A friend and I went, and after the game, we caught Mr. Scott at the clubhouse, and he signed three cards for me.

Last night, I went to Joliet for a game in the City of Champions Cup. The Joliet Slammers are in the Frontier League, which cancelled it's season. The team decided to create a four team tournament of players from the Slammers roster, as well as other local players who were without a job. Last night was the Chicago Deep Dish against the Tully Monsters. The Chicago Deep Dish are managed by Glenallen Hill, Sr., and his son, Glenallen Hill, Jr. is on the team. The Tully Monsters are managed by 2-time World Series Champion Scott Spiezio. Prior to the game, I was able to get two cards signed by Houston Astros prospect Alex McKenna. After the game ended, I was able to get Scott Spiezio to sign three cards in the dugout right before he was leaving. I then went over to the other side, where Glenallen Hill Sr. and Jr. were standing with another person at the netting by the edge of the dugout talking to someone. After the conversation finally ended, Glenallen Sr. and Jr. started to walk to the other dugout, and I called out for Glenallen asking if he would sign (2 birds with one stone), however, Jr. turned around, saw me, and said he's not signing. Sr. kept walking. So, I was happy to get Spiezio at the very least, since IP autos are few and far between.

Obviously, it's been awhile, but I saw online that a former University of Michigan basketball player was hosting a charity event in Gary, Indiana today, so I drove to the event, and had Glenn Robinson III sign 5 cards for me. He also had a stack of presigned promo photos, which I grabbed one of. It was about an hour and 15 minutes away from my home, but it gave me an opportunity to listen to the NY Giants football game on the radio, since it wasn't being locally broadcast except at a Direct-TV NFL Package bar, which is just not safe to go to and sit for three hours. Normally, I sit in my home office and listen to the games, so this was a nice diversion.

Glad to see some IP graphing still happening. Also liked Robinson, as a Purdue fan of course was a huge fan of his dad!
