Syndergaard 2019 Topps Update Series Print Variations

I recently purchased some packs of the Topps 2019 update series and found two copies of Noah Syndergaard, card # US265. They look identical to me, except one card (shown left) has an imprint of "1036/2019" while the other does not.

I'm just returning to collecting after more than 30 years, so this is new to me. Does the imprint mean anything? Is it likely a print error?

    Thanks for any feedback!

The numbered one has a gold border on the front, the other does not.

They have done these Gold Variant print runs for a while now, with the numbering being the year of release (i.e 2019 Topps /2019, 2015 Topps /2015 and so on).
@bblair_2002 is correct, the only difference should be the gold front. If you are looking for Variations, the code can be found at the bottom of the card. Those can then be compared to the base version (i.e. @019 Topps holiday base code #057, SP 063, SP Rare 064, SP Super Rare 065).

It isn't an error. The numbered card is the gold parallel version. If you look at the front of the card it should be gold colored. This system worked a lot better when they used card fronts with borders. But now that they don't it is tough to tell the gold, blue, purple, etc parallels apart from the regular cards.

Thank you, pwaldo, bigbenjobu, and bblair_2002! This is a great help for someone who has lapsed in collecting for far too long.

I guess my eyes are getting old. I'll look more closely at the border color.
