hoping to get some information on a Kobe card

Hi everybody, I am almost exclusively a football collector, but when an opportunity comes by to pick up an auto of an all-time sports great you have to jump at it. Pictured below is a Kobe auto I traded for a few years ago...from what I can tell it is from a 2011 set called Gold Standard and is numbered to 49, but other than that I am clueless to whether it was part of a specific subset, how collectible Gold Standard is, value prior to the tragic accident on Sunday, etc. If anyone could give me some details on this piece I would greatly appreciate it. I am not looking to sell or trade, this one is buried deep in my personal collection, I would just like to get a little more information regarding it. Thanks for any help folks can give in advance!

Gold Standard was a fairly high end set that Panini did for several years. There were a number of inserts in it that Kobe signed for, usually serially numbered, and it looks like they're all going between $500 and $1,000 on eBay right now. Prior to his death, his autos went for around $200. I'm glad you're saving yours. It's 2010-11 Gold Standard Gold Rings Signatures.
