Debating about starting 1952 Topps Baseball

I have been debating since I got my Jackie Robinson back from PSA (and it was not altered) if I wanted to sell that OR look to build the set myself.

So, I think I want to try to see what I can do in getting this set built. I don't have much free cash at the moment but let me know what you have if you are looking to move items.

    good call
I am making the same attempt. I decided to try to build the low series in any condition raw or graded.
so far I have 22 ranging from PSA 1 to PSA 8OC.

Good luck with that Scott. I imagine the Mantle will be the costliest card.
    Always Looking for:

    A) Graded Vintage (Pre-1980) (BGS, BVG, PSA, SGC) in all sports
    B) Graded True RC's (No inserts or parallels) (BGS, PSA, SGC) in all sports
    C) Certified Auto and GU cards of players from the 70's and further back in all sports

Unless you have 50-75K to spend, dont bother trying. The high #s are insane and hard to find, and the Mantle is so expensive you could buy a nice car for the price of it. Its an ambitious project, but I feel you would get frustrated as it is hard as hell

I get your point Ed, however, I'm not worried about the money at this point as I am so far away from completing the set, it would be pickup items as I go. I probably will also grade most everything and look to sell/trade down. I am fine with having a bunch of PSA 1-3s, where if I get a 5-8 somewhere, I can use that to fund other items.

In all honesty, I have not had any real hobby projects/goals since 2016 (when I took SCF over). I personally need to find the fun again and get back to what I enjoy most about this hobby, or that will more frustrate me.
