Upper Deck Posts Preview of Chronology Vol 2

    https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...6543951&type=3

    CONTENT HIGHLIGHTS
    • This is the second half of the Chronology series, including current NHL® superstars and more retired players! The Chronology series (Vols. I & II) represents Upper Deck’s most comprehensive living set!

    • Boasts approximately 200 different signers, some of which haven’t had fully-licensed autograph cards in several years!

    • Look for Diamond and Autographed Diamond Relic cards. Each card in the 100-subject Diamond Relic parallel of the base set is fitted with a .14 carat, 35mm diamond and printed on 140-pt. stock. Both the Diamond Relic – Black & Black Auto parallels are numbered to just 9.

    • NEW! Contains Letterman and Autographed Letterman nameplates. Collect the entire nameplate of top rookies and established superstars, including autographed versions numbered as low as 10!

    • Loaded with surefire hits, the Franchise History Auto insert features a stellar checklist, hard-signed autographs and team-based prefixes. The checklist includes current stars and retired stars not included in Vol. I.

    • NEW! Also keep an eye out for the XRC Rookie and XRC Rookie Auto Redemption cards for the top 2020 draftees!

    • The stunning Canvas Masterpiece Auto & Canvas Draft Masterpiece Auto collections combine to feature 40 current stars & retired legends, and 10 top-flight rookies. Each card boasts framed original art from the trading card industry’s finest sports artists! Look for three low-numbered (#’d to 25 or less) parallels, highlighted by the 1-of-1 Black Border parallel.

    • Look for the second half of the 1 in 100 insert set.

    • Time Capsules feature rare Mini Canvas cards. Some include autographed versions. Look inside for Auto or Blank Back minis #’d to 3.

look forward to seeing the checklist. Hope to see some names that have never signed for the card companies before (and there were a few in the first edition)

Chronology is a beautiful product, however it is so expensive and completely hit or miss. I prefer to allow others with greater disposable income bust this stuff while I sit back and bid/trade for the stuff I want.

That said, I really love the Price/Roy dual auto /25!

I'm of the same mindset. I won't touch it at its price point - but I've been happy to add a handful of auto'd cards that I identified as major upgrades for my collection (love the look of them).

I wonder if UD is making this a "mixed" set (retired, and current players) to try and deal with the awful value? For me... picking up a Brian Benning autograph was a must, but I knew I just had to wait a month or two after release, and I could get one for five bucks. I'm assuming he wasn't high on many people's want list.... and there's a TON of other players comparable to him.

While I think the over use of all-things rookie is quickly leading to the medium/long term devaluation of pretty much all wax.... it's what the people seem to want, so why not give it them?

It was nice seeing a checklist that was ALL retired players. It let UD get deeper into that catalog of players. I suppose now the 200 signers will be 100 retired players, 50 current stars, and 50 rookies.... leaving UD with (mostly) the same crop of players they use over and over again.

My thoughts exactly! I will be once again viewing Chronology from afar and loving every minute of it. They truly are beautiful cards. Maybe I'll pick something up for my random Goalie PC. We'll see.

Get rid of the current players and bring back more irrelevant names from the past please. I'll take a Martin Straka Islanders auto.
I collect Matt Dzieduszycki, Derek King, Pierre Turgeon (Isles only), Zigmund Palffy (Isles only) plus specific current Isles (mainly Toews, Wahlstrom, Dobson, Barzal, Beauvillier, Pulock)

Please, no more offers for tradebait. I have enough of it as it is.

Had I known Chronology 1 would become an E-Krap product, I wouldn't have bought in. Knowing that now, I'll be looking for singles in the aftermarket. I really feel UD should be telling us beforehand if something is going to be on E-Pack, feels like a bait and switch when they don't.
