There's no difference, same card, just the light catching it differently.

I don't think so. If there is some reflection, why we don't see it on the comc scans?

And why they noted this Larkin (also with gold stripes)?

[QUOTE=Vorangee;14877494]I don't think so. If there is some reflection, why we don't see it on the comc scans?

Because they use very high quality scanners to scan their images. Chances are there is a cover used when they scan to block out any other sources of light that might cause reflections. In the hand held image, @RGM81 is right, the card is catching the light differently.

And why they noted this Larkin (also with gold stripes)?

Don't get me started on COMC and their use of comments lol. I have found countless mistakes on their site (i.e. wrong serial numbers, wrong teams, wrong player names, etc.) Unfortunately when you have millions of cards on your site, you are prone to make mistakes and list things incorrectly so I understand it.

Case in point, look closely at the two scanned images of the Larkin card from COMC. You'll notice that one scan looks darker than the other, especially in the background that surrounds the edges of the cards. Maybe they used two different scanners? Either way, these cards were both scanned under different conditions, that is very clear to anyone looking at the images provided, even if you think they are different cards.

I don't believe there is a gold stripes version. If there was, the card manufacturer would have acknowledged it. My advice? I think you are better off contacting UD. When I have had questions in the past about their products, I usually get a response back within 2 to 3 weeks.

If you do contact them, I'd love to hear the response. Good luck.

    Couple things.

epack pictures are provided to us at COMC, cards that are submitted we have to scan.

I would also assume the scanners they use in the States are different than the ones we use in Canada. Different price point cards are also scanned differently than others.

The OP showed 2 pictures, one was scanned the other a photo. Obviously the guy taking the photo was trying to reduce glare and therefor the light reflected off the foil differently.

As per sets, we in Canada do not create sets. Lets just say our American counterparts are not as knowledgeable as the Canadian branch when it comes to hockey.

But like pwskelly stated, when you have millions of cards, some mistakes are going to slip through the cracks. Thats why we provide a correction button with each card. Weather it be wrong information attached to the card, scan thats slightly off .... or you just need some clarification on damage if you see any and it doesnt state ..... we have a button for that =P
