Cool concept, sub-optimal execution.
To me, the ideal way to do that card right is to have the player's actual stats from the game incorporated into the design in some capacity. Use a photo of them from the game, and come with a way to include the lineup note displayed next to or above the traditional stats: TOI / G / A / Pts / PIM's
On the back you have the "Congratulations!" write up along with a brief summary of their game performance.
"Bortuzzo had four shots on goal in the game, and helped the Blues kill all five penalties against them, logging over 17 minutes of ice time."
TL-AVS Semyon Varlamov - 12/2/2018 - Avalanche - Semyon scratched his butt 3 times, put his clipboard down 4 times, was not wearing a hat this game
TL-ML2 Mitch Marner - 12/8/2018 - Maple Leafs - Mitch was -3 tonight (the score difference) with 0 shots on goal, so it was his fault the Leafs lost 6-3 against Boston.
Only problem(s) with your version is the back-up goalies and stat lines like Mitch's. Besides that I love the idea of tieing cards to specific games. Sereal does a good job with that type of data.

They already do this in essence for MVP cards, it's just not additional ink, but incorporated in the design
Yeah I agree with that. Like why not take it a step further and package cards with autopen autos with a little disclaimer on the back that it's a manufactured auto. I probably shouldn't give them any ideas lol
