Ex collector sort of returning a bit

Hello all. My name is Matt. I'm 30 years old and live in Tennessee. Was a really big collector back in the 90s through the mid 2000s (football only back then) but got out of it in my late teens/early 20s.

Fast forward to now and as I've gotten older and am staying home for (wife and kid) I've sort of rekindled my love for collecting. I'm not huge into it anymore (don't buy packs or anything like that anymore) but I will buy the occasional piece on eBay if I can find a good price.

My teams are:

NFL : Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans
NBA: Memphis Grizzlies
NHL: Nashville Predators
MLB: Atlanta Braves
MMA: Stipe Miocic (Forrest Griffin is my favorite all-time though)

Don't really keep up with any other sport, though I do sometimes watch some Premier League soccer when I see it on.

As for collecting, I basically only collect/buy PC items (Pekka Rinne being my main guy) and don't invest in cards anymore (got burned really bad back in the day with a few QBs who flamed out) so if I don't like the team/player, I don't have any interest in the card. I've also been diving into TTM autos after finding this site and have had quite a few successes, but again, I'm only going for guys who I have enjoyed watching and/or played for my favorites teams.

@TNenforcer Welcome to the site Matt! You have learned some valuable lessons that will lead you into making the right collecting decisions for yourself. I’m always trying to learn to listen to my gut as I navigate through my hobby goals. Experience like you have is very valuable and I guarantee you’ll find many helpful people in this community.
