Of that, ruling out positions that likely wouldn't have #21 and being generous with some positions, that cuts the list down to 44.

Of that, I'm going to rule out anyone who played before 1970, since penmanship for older players are usually spot on. That brings the list down to 23.


With #21, I'm guessing it's most likely a RB or DB, That brings the above list to 20. I checked jerseys for everyone on that list and the following guys have worn #21:

My googling didn't have any luck with those 4. Do you have any other context around this autograph? Where'd you get it from? Are you sure it's a football player? How long ago did you get it? Any idea how old it might be?

So I got this back in 2015, not 100% what sport it is from either MLB/NBA/NFL. My initial thinking looking back on it is that it could be Gio Bernard from the Bengals but then again, not sure about it.

Plus Gio Bernard is not #21. I ran through baseball as well, came up with 85 names. I went ahead and eliminated everyone who played before 1960 which leaves 33 players. I spot checked the most recent ones and none of them were #21. George Bell wore 21 at the end of his career with the White Sox but his auto doesn't look like that and he tends to sign with a #11 or '89 MVP anyways.

In the basketball realm, there's only 18 guys with those initials. Of those, only 1 guy wore #21, Greg Buckner. His auto doesn't look anything like that. Maybe it's from a dude in college, who knows. Unfortunately I got nothing else for ya.
