Flyers Getting Ready to Write Annual Humongous Big Cheque to Bryzgalov
On this day in 2013, the Philadelphia Flyers bought out the remaining 7 years of goalie Ilya Bryzgalov's contract.
This 2019-20 season would have been the final year of the deal.
As part of the buyout formula the Flyers pay Bryz $1.642M until 2027.
Humongous big!

Bobby Bonilla, of the New York Mets, is still the best one. I think they're paying him 1.2 million every year (since 2000) until 2035.

No way. He's not running again in 2024. The Russian constitution forbids it.
Of course, he's likely to create a new position sometime before then. One more powerful than President. Probably one that doesn't have pesky elections either. He won't have the authority to appoint himself to that job.... but I suspect after an exhausting search process, the Russian Parliament will conclude that he (Putin) is, by far, the best candidate for the job.
