Should I send in my Giannis Prizm RC to be graded?

    Hey guys,

Weighing the options on getting my Giannis Prizm RC graded.

I know it's a small risk to send something in the mail. I've only sent in one card to be graded before, and it came back fine, in fact a BGS 9.5 (Brett Favre Score RC).

The Giannis admittedly looks great to me. The only possible sub-9 I see is in the upper right corner, particularly from the back. What do you all think?

The slight ding on the upper right corner from the back, up closer for clarity:

Looks awesome, but I agree you might want to keep it for yourself and nit grade it. You may be disappointed.

I would not grade it since you stated there was a small imperfection on the back corner. The grade may come back lower than expected.

I would send it in to get graded. Worst thing that could happen if you don't get the grade you want and you break it out of the case. Good luck.

Might just be my bad eyes, but it looks a tad off center.

I would keep it raw myself, but i don't grade much.
My main focus is 90s star inserts/refractors in any sport but will also look at RCs, Color Refractors/Prizms and #'d of JRod, Witt, Ohtani, Carroll, Griffey, Jeter, Trout, Acuna, Jordan, Lebron, Luka, Ja, Ant, Brady, Mahomes, Herbert, Burrow, Hurts and any other star rookies/prospects

    Thanks, everyone.

I checked the grades and sub-grades of some other Giannis Prizms, and there was one that was very off-center, even more than mine, and the centering specifically got an 8.5, so I think I could get a 9 on that. But I agree it's probably the most notable flaw after the back corner. Centering is no higher than 9.

It's a tough decision. I think I could get a possible total BGS 9 out of it, maybe even a couple of 9.5s on edges and surface (the surface in particular looks quite good; this tends to be the sub that gets docked the most on Giannis Prizms due to the chrome being sensitive to elements). And the graded 9s do seem to get higher sales than raw ones on eBay. But I still wonder about that corner.

Well after a lot of consideration, I'm sending it to PSA tomorrow -- found out their turnaround time is really good right now per someone else who just got a Morant graded, and the PSA web site directions were easy to follow, so it's ready to ship. The Giannis needs to be 8.5 minimum to come back to me graded. If I get it back raw, I'm out about $100 from the processing and shipping fees -- which would definitely be a bummer -- but even so, it's better to know what condition it's in. This is potentially a $2,000ish card now, and it just makes sense to find out its true condition.

Good luck. Hopefully get a 9 or better. If you ever decide you don't like the card anymore feel free to send it my way. Ha

I just got notification of the QA check from PSA -- it's a mint 9!

I'll post pic after it ships and hopefully arrives safely!
