Do you ever randomly get blaster that have the exact same packs card per card? except of course the insertsi have many a time where several blasters base cards are in identical packs

I opened a bunch of 13-14 UD 1 tins and didn't notice this. I opened 5 UD1 19-20 blasters (the ones with the jumbo YGs) and everything was different, a lot of damage on the jumbo YGs. At least, the Jack Hugues jumbo was clean. I never opened multiple blasters from other years.

hmm just must be my luck then purchased 2 18-19 a few days ago and both were with same base packs was weird except the bonus packs had this happen in 19-20 as well and with parkhurst and opeechee blasters as well. must be a thing to do with serial numbers in series. I did notice all 2 of walmarts near me it seems the blasters have been sorted aka a mess someone is checking blaster weight or something

On release date there is definitely an advantage to S1 hobby. The faster you can get your unwanted inserts up for sale, the better. By the time retail comes out, a lot of the inserts are already unsellable.

I typically buy some hobby boxes on release, and then wait for retail to go on sale. If there is a good insert set, like Rookie Commence, Team Triples, etc... it can make some sense to buy the retail on release and then sell those inserts right away. Some of them have surprisingly high re-sale value on release.

I do not think that straight retail boxes of 24 have good value on release though. I would wait for those to go on sale. Especially this year, when the rookie crop is likely to stink.

Last year, I was buying UD2 15-16 and UD1 17-18 24 packs retail boxes for like 40CAD. No huge pull, but it was fun and affordable :)

must be the way they cut sheets and package. really makes trying to build a set sometimes problematic

I pull most of my young guns from retail that I buy on sale after it's released. I got three McDavid ygs from blaster boxes on sale on black friday.

I started buying UD1 blasters on the black friday sale last year. I didn't do well, my only decent pull out of 5 blasters was a Jack Hugues jumbo YG :(

With Lafreniere, I want to open at least 3 blasters this year to get free shipping.
