Jerry Rice rookie overpriced? Vintage football card bubble.
I'm thinking of buying a Jerry Rice rookie 1986 Topps (psa 8 or 9). However, according to https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/ these cards have almost doubled in price since 2019 and I'm worried the pandemic has created a bubble for sports cards that will burst once life gets back to normal.
Does anyone else think the recent price surges in sports cards will remain over the long-term or are we in a temporary bubble?

They'll retreat some but remain higher than pre-pandemic.

Good point. Might be better off waiting to buy for now.

Yep, I totally agree this will happen. This are high but will come down, but no where near what they where before the upswing.
I'm noticing that when a sport is over, the cards come down. As in Basketball, when a team was eliminated from the bubble playoffs, the player on that team price went down. Football is at full swing so football card prices have gone up. When football is over, they will come down in price. So when basketball starts up again, I bet prices on bball cards will start to go up again.Last edited by Shaggy; 12-01-2020 at 05:04 PM.

I agree also that they will go down a little!
BakeFootball: Emmitt Smith and CeeDee Lamb!
Baseball: Aaron Judge/Adley Rutschman/Derek Jeter/Anthony Volpe!
Only collect Football/Baseball cards, but I have lots of Basketball/Hockey cards and set to trade for BB and FB!
