Shoot...So I have decided to change my collecting focus to higher end cards, especially star YG's. I found a really mint looking Malkin YG on Ebay with only 2 bids on it, at $280.00 cdn, which seemed like a good value. Especially since the auction was ending at around 4:30 AM so I figured I would get up early and nab it for maybe 301.00. I was thinking it would grade well, like PSA 10, and would be a great card to have....but I set my alarm to 4PM instead of AM.

could always pre bid your max then you may not miss it....but u will get lots of prebids in between some seem to try and find ur max and stop while others bids till they beat you and others well bid so fast its not humanly possible. Watch out for people who bid higher then u and then retract stay away from sellers who seeem to have lots of those

Sorry to heat that been there done that. Always stinks when you miss it and the auction stays lower than what your max bid would have been.

Heh yep been there done that. There was a Gorges OPC Blank Back (I already had 1, so not a huge loss) that was in my watch pile that I meant to throw in a bid but it ended at like 5am PST so I missed it. It ended with zero bids at .99.
