    What would you do?

I have complete sets from the 90's. I have been pondering lately (getting older makes you evaluate things) about what to do with them. Should I take the Jordan's, Kobe's, and Duncan's out and treat them individually. Probably best to admit here the sum of the parts are greater than the whole. But breaking up a set has its downfalls as well. I don't have an objective here. Not ready to liquidate the collection just yet. I want people to put themselves in this scenario and tell me what would you do and why. Thanks in advance to any responses.

Good questions. First, I'd check the book and/or eBay values of the top players, and the sets, to see what they're going for. In my case, I had a number of cards that went up a lot (1997-98 Topps Kobe, etc.) and ended up selling those on eBay included with the complete sets rather than breaking them up. It made for less bulk in my card closet, and I was able to make some money, which was helpful in this year of the covid crisis.

For me personally it would depend on the set you are talking about because I personally think some sets have value as sets but most do not in the basketball world
