Hockey Night in Canada - Canadian Division Predictor Challenge

For the 2021 NHL season, every night is Hockey Night in Canada!

As a consequence of the ongoing pandemic, for the 2021 NHL season all seven Canadian teams will be together in the North Division. All games will be divisional, which means that every night your favourite Canadian team plays it will be against another Canadian "rival." Expect the chirping to be off the charts, and bragging rights will no doubt be on the line regularly.

Because of these unique circumstances, we wanted to take advantage of the unprecedented opportunity to have a Canadian team-based contest for our members. And while you don't have to be Canadian to participate, you'll have a great time cheering on your favourite team against the other six teams by participating in the Canadian Division Predictor Challenge

The NHL's schedule has been released, and each of the Canadian teams will square off at least nine times, including some "mini-series" of 3 games in a row. Here is the NHL's matrix:

Your goal in the Predictor Challenge will be to pick your favourite Canadian team and how they will fare against the other six teams, as well as some individual stats. You have the opportunity to earn up to 30 points in this contest for our season-long contest. Here are the questions:

    1. Predict the head-to-head outcomes (W-L-OTL) for your team against the other six teams. For each correct outcome (i.e. wins, losses, OT losses) you will earn one point, to a maximum of 18 points.

    Example:
    Montreal Canadiens
    vs. Vancouver: 5-3-1
    vs. Edmonton: 4-3-2
    vs. Calgary: 5-2-2
    vs. Winnipeg: 4-4-1
    vs. Ottawa: 8-1-1
    vs. Toronto: 5-3-2

    2. Rank all 7 Canadian teams and how they will finish in the North Division standings at the end of the season (7 points)

    3. Who will be your team's top scorer?

    4. Who will lead your team in goals?

    5. What will your #1 goalie's final regular season record be?

    6. How many points will your team earn?

    7. Will a player from your team finish in the Top 10 in points?

    Other Rules

    One entry per member.

Any negative feedback or serious infractions will result in being disqualified from the contest.

For this contest, there is a trade requirement -- please complete one trade in the Trade Manager by the end of the season.

    Good luck!
Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...
