My Intro thread and updates and the future of SCF.

I think I may have never posted up a intro thread about me. I’m slacking! If I didn't, well here it is again. :)

So, a little about me. I started collecting cards back in the 80's. I was around 10 years old maybe. Kept collecting till around 92’ as I started high school and girls were more interesting than cardboard. I picked it back up in early 2000 but of course I was just buying baseball wax boxes and never touched football(Brady Rookies) and basketball(Lebron Rookies). I never sold or traded when I was collecting so I basically have all the cards that I collected over those years which honestly wasn’t a valuable collection at all.

So about 3 years ago, I went to a local Salvation Army where I live and found a 3500 count box of 70’s football for $12. I said what the heck and bought it. It sat in my office for a few weeks. I haven’t bought a Beckett price magazine in years and didn’t even think they still existed. So, I ended up finding PSACard and decided to look up prices of each card. I know they were prices of graded cards, but it gave me some ideas of what cards had value or not. I was hooked and haven’t stopped buying cards since.

So, in comes SCF. I own several forums, mostly Auto forums. I decided to see if there was a forum out there that I could buy in the Sports Card world as I like owning forums on things that I am interested in. So, I contacted Scott(the original owner) and here we are.

After buying the forum, I was shocked on how much more this site was then just a forum. I was overwhelmed but look forward to the updates that are going on right now. The future plans for this site are to update everything, forum software, trade manager, inventory manager, OPG, and store front.

There are several plans to add and update things for SCF. Here is a list of things that will be added in the near future. If you have any talents that might be useful let me know.

1. The forum software that SCF runs will be converted over from vBulletin to Xenforo. It’s a new software that is light years better than the older vBulletin we currently run on. There will be differences to the forum and it may take some getting used to, but the software is better than what we currently use.

2. Adding a new Card Shop locator (30ranfordfan and ShayneShark will be assisting in this endeavor).

3. Reward points Auctions and real money auctions. I am planning on using the auction setup in the Store Front section where it says Auctions.

4. More new stuff will be coming soon and I will always announce them within the Announcement forum.

7) I placed lil5up3rman (Daniel) and doniceage (Don) as the General Manager and Assistant General Manager they will be largely in charge of handling any issues you may have as well as day to day activities and I have given them the authority to make those decisions as they see fit.
